Job postings with a sourced salary range, whatever your country's rule
Find the salary range to put in your job posting, then write the posting around it.
Pick the role and the country. JD Bands builds a salary band from official statistics and writes the job description with the range inside. It checks the wording for bias and exports to PDF or job-board text. A range in the posting is the safe default under the EU Pay Transparency Directive, whichever country you hire in.

Sounds familiar?
- The EU Pay Transparency Directive says candidates get the pay range before the interview. Your country's rules are still landing. You have a role to post next week.
- You hire two or three times a year. Every posting starts from a blank page, and the salary figure is a guess. Where would you even get a real one?
- The ranges you find online are for London or Berlin tech, not for an accountant in Nantes or a site foreman in Antwerp.
- The directive bans asking candidates what they earn now, so the range has to come from somewhere else.
How it works
01
Pick role and country
Choose from a taxonomy of common SME roles, by country and region. Set seniority and sector.
02
Get the band
A salary range built from official statistics, with the source and reference year shown. Add your own hires to refine it.
03
Generate the posting
A job description in the languages you need, with the range inserted and biased wording flagged. Export to PDF or copy to your job board.
What you get: One job posting with a sourced salary range inside, ready to publish.
Who it is for
Companies with 10 to 250 staff hiring without an HR team, plus the small agencies and fractional HR consultants who write their postings.
Not a per-employee benchmarking suite for large employers, and not legal advice on your country's transposition.

Questions
- Where do the salary bands come from?
- Official statistics only: Eurostat's Structure of Earnings Survey and the national institutes (INSEE, Destatis, Statbel, CBS, ONS). We use them under their open licences and credit the source on every band. You can add your own hires to refine a band. We do not scrape job boards; their terms forbid it.
- Does the range have to be in the posting itself?
- The directive says candidates must get the starting pay or its range in the vacancy notice or before the interview. Italy, Austria, Lithuania and Slovakia already require a pay figure in the ad; Poland lets you choose. A range in the posting satisfies every version of the rule, so that is our default. We show your country's current rule next to the band.
- Is the directive already in force where I hire?
- At EU level it is law, and the transposition deadline was 7 June 2026. By autumn 2026 only Italy, Slovakia, Lithuania, Malta and Greece had fully transposed; Poland has its pre-interview rules in force. France, Germany, the Netherlands, Belgium, Spain, Ireland, Austria and Sweden are late and still legislating. We track each country and show its status next to your band.
- Do I have pay-gap reporting duties as well?
- Not under 100 staff. Employers with 150 or more workers file their first report by 7 June 2027; those with 100 to 149 start by 7 June 2031. For a smaller company the exposure is the hiring rule and your workers' right to pay information.
